The dream is always the same. I am trying to get to the theatre, but the crowds of people, the press of time, even the very air itself hold me back. I swim through the thick air, pushing on against all the forces pushing against me, each step a struggle without the feel of victory. Finally I see the theatre, and the throngs outside streaming away. I fight my way through them as a fish would attempt to ascend the cataract at Niagara, and yet somehow I manage to push my way through. I take the stairs three at a time. I would know the way even if my eyes were blindfolded.
