The world was being newly created. The gods sat down to talk. Kanir, God of food, said they should play a game to determine who would be king.

Urun,God of lightning, won. This made him the king. Kanir got the land, Yave won the sea and Orn won the underworld. Aru didn’t get anything ,even though he was the eldest and strongest.

Because Aru was the strongest god, the others sent him to kill their sworn enemy Goadrba.

Aru bound Goadrba with a chain, but the chain was not strong enough so it broke free. So Aru went to a prophet.

The prophet told him that, in order to kill Goadrba, He must sacrifice himself in a lake of fire.

He went back to the gods and told them what he must do. But when he went to the lake Atan, God of night, went with him. Atan also jumped in the fire.

Suddenly two balls of light rose from the lake and shattered into a million pieces above.

Goadrba’s body burst into stars . Becasue of their heroic deed, Aru became the sun and Atan the moon.

Goadrba’s head became colored lights. Sometimes, If you are in the north, You can still see them to this day.

The gods where sad about Aru, So they gave him the sky. Atan could visit them in the morning, And Aru could visit at night.
