Beyond religion is Love.
It comes from the spiritual heart, the link to the eternal, to what we call God.
In Christian terms, it is interpreted as Jesus.
This link connects us to the infinite source of all Love, the creative power that is given by divine Grace to all the creation.
We are that.
Love is our birthright. Our God gave it to us the second he gave us breath upon this earth. Yet all our lives we keep searching for it, as if it were somewhere else.
Do we find love in a lover? Probably not. A lover can only appreciate you, and make you feel loved. But that is just a bandage for the pain of separation. It cannot last forever. It cannot stir your soul. It can only be a temporary solution to a lifelong quest.
The real Love is in you. Not outside of you.
Do we find love in our families? Again, this is not eternal. It dies with the flesh. How long can a mother love her child? As long as she can. How long does real Love last? Beyond death. Inside your forever soul, Love goes on.
All our lives we have a hunger for this elusive Love. We seek it out. We find it, then lose it again.
But real Love cannot be lost. Once you find the link, the Jesus connection, you are on the right road.
Again, this is not religion. I am talking about the real meaning of Jesus. This is a metaphor for Love. In a deep spiritual way, the Jesus of all mankind, of all religions and faiths and those who have none, is our answer to emptiness.
And it is closer than your own beating heart.
Tragedy is the death of Jesus. We killed him. We abandoned him on the cross where he forgave us all. Today we have to bring him back into our lives and thank him for always being there, through death and life.
Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.
Forgive us, Lord, for not listening.
Perhaps the key is forgiveness. It opens the door to Loving ourselves like God does. That kind of Love is unconditional, which means no matter who we are or what we did or didn’t do, the Love goes on forever.
That kind of Love you don’t get at the mall.
There is no price tag on it. No bargain basement deals. The priceless commodity is free, with a blessing.
Why would we look anywhere else than in our own hearts?
Jesus, the link to our eternal Father of Love, is there. Our mother, our brother, our family are all included. Our love for them is part of the great Love. He gives us a small sample of love on earth, but makes it imperfect, so we will get a taste and go hunting for the real thing. Let us always be hungry.
You don’t have to be religious to have God’s love in you. You just have to feel the hunger and desire for the whole meal. Don’t be satisfied with samples. Once you have a taste of infinite Love, you will never be alone. God walks with you. The Christ in you is alive and well. The one you call Jesus is as real as you are. More so. The infinite in the finite, God in you, the Jesus connection, all comes down to Love.
Spell it with a capital L. This is Love, not love or luv or like-you-a-lot.
There is no substitute for the real thing. And Love is real.
How do you know? It takes time and a little effort. It starts with a hunger. It is fed by a smile from the heavens. Once you begin the journey towards heavenly Love you will be supplied with manna. In synchronicity, things will happen to keep you gazing heavenward. There will be clues. God sends all his angels to watch over you.
Oh, there will be difficulties. One step forward, another shove back. But keep on the road. Eventually, you will see a glimmer of Light at the end, and know for certain that all the hurdles have been worth it.
There is nothing else in the whole wide world worth striving to attain. The inner Love, the Jesus connection, is fantastic. It is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and it is the rainbow.
Start today. Appreciate. That is part of God’s heart. He wants you to appreciate his world. Enjoy. He loves to see you smile. Help others, feed his sheep. Be grateful, always. Look up and see the stars. See the grass, feel it beneath your feet. Be glad.
You are on your way.
Pray. Hello, God, I want to love you as much as you love me. Show me the way.
The rest is your journey.
