A few last words…
I was born amidst the lakes and forests of Finland in 1921. Homestead life taught me to see nature at close quarters, for we lived with nature. Of course we had to visit the local store from time to time, but seldom did we need to buy food.
As a schoolboy I shared in the farm work every summer, but I preferred to be out hunting or fishing, or collecting birds'eggs and plants.
I graduated from school in 1939. All 13 boys in my class volunteered for military service; we were obliged to take part in two wars against the Soviet Union, and six of my class-mates gave their lives in repelling the communist attacks.
In 1949 I Qualified as Master of Science in Forestry, and went to work for a cellulose manufacturer in my home town, where I was involved in the acquisition of raw materials. But I always longed to be closer to nature, so when my father died I left the company and returned to the family farm, where I started a small plant nursery. For over 30 years I cultivated and developed it. Now my son has taken over.
From the very start I tried to get into the secrets of natural cultivation. Thus I took on the challenge which has engaged me for decades, and which is not yet ended. Nature reveals her secrets very slowly!
Out in the countryside, there are water-diviners in every village, who can find underground water-courses and places for wells. From early childhood this fascinated me, and I wished that one day I myself might have such magical ability. My wish was indeed fulfilled, but not until I was fifty years old.
I began seriously to learn how to use willow twigs for divining and after three months my work began to bear fruit. At the same time I realized that willow was an excellent material with which to make all kinds of investigations. This led to observations of things beyond the normal range of human senses. The willow obeyed its user’s thoughts.
I was already well aware of the great importance of seaweed and wood-ash in nature. Now it all became very clear. Such substances encouraged the plant’s bioenergy field to grow strongly, while artificial nitrogen fertilizer caused it to shrink. Using my willow, I searched ever deeper into nature’s secrets until one memorable day I realized that the answer came to me at the very moment when I thought of the subject, even before I took hold of the willow. At a single stroke the way ahead had become easier, yet at the same time my missions grew in proportion.
Increasing knowledge quickly led to practical application. I began to get telephone calls from people who needed help because of illness. I saw their troubles, and was able to help! At first this seemed quite impossible, but I must humbly accept this surprising ability when I receive positive feedback. During the course of a year I developed a certain routine, and now I teach others who can continue the task. The world is so full of disease that this sort of training is essential.
Gradually I have also taught myself to see nature spirits such as goblins, trolls, elves and many similar beings which live in water. Similarly, I have come to meet beings from that dimension which is thinner or finer than ours. Several of them have become my close and firm friends. I am indebted to them for the help I have received.
This road is not mine alone. It is open to whoever feels drawn to spiritual development. The guides will reveal themselves in wonderful ways.
This is how story-teller in Kalevala, the Finnish epic poem, tells of his information sources. For him nature was very close; he lived in the midst of it, as one individual in the great sea of life. Once he had gained nature’s confidence, the channels to nature’s deeper things were opened. The book of life was his handbook.
For nature, every moment of time is a whole new world, because existence is continually changing. The things which science is exploiting now are not the same as they were a second ago.
Science observes existence in one level, in the world of five senses and three dimensions. The depth of the fourth dimension is not in the picture, neither are all the things which the additional sense of perceptivity brings with it.
Such things are scorned because the evidence which science demands cannot be produced. Not even repetition can create credibility, other than in very limited circumstances.
Man has a tendency to classify all spiritual things as belonging either to religion or to philosophy. When someone says that he is an atheist, many people think this is his religion. The same goes for the sceptic. If things don’t correspond with his way of looking at things, or with the discipline he espouses, then either they don’t exist or something is wrong.
The traveller on the spiritual path respects all views, for they originate in the individual’s free will.
The contents of this book are basically founded on super-sensible observations. This is an ability which I have gained gradually over decades of working closely with nature. It is as if individual plants stand out from the mass of greenery and sincerely wait for me to make contact with them. They read my thoughts without difficulty. Time and space vanish. It is possible to look back in time, and just as easy to see into the future. Later my channels were opened to higher lifeforms such as animals and human beings.
During this development, one thing has stood out with increasing clarity; all this information is given to be used for the benefit of mankind. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" . Skin color and religion are irrelevant. A person should always be given help when he asks for it. This is particularly so where children or the elderly are concerned.
Over the years I have been lecturing on many different subjects for which I have developed a large number of illustrations. Some of these are to be found in this book. Starting from the basics of biological cultivation I have progressed to more secret matters. It is my hope that the reader will get a satisfactory overall picture.
My admiration and thanks go to the artist, Pirkko Hakkila, who created the illustrations for this book.
With her skill and talent, not only has she put flesh on the bones with which she was presented, but also she has brought the pictures to life.
“Sang the frost a chorus for me,
Rain escorted runic verses.
Breeze-breath songs, wind-whispered phrases,
Wafted hither on the sea-waves.
Soaring words, the birds have brought me
Tales fantastic told by tree tops.
Other songs and magic words learned,
Plucked from wayside, gleaned from heather,
Torn from thicket, stripped from saplings,
Cropped from grasses as I wandered…”

NATURE GUIDES THE FARMER
Mankind is waking up to the damage he is doing to the environment or, as we usually say, nature. But in most cases he has failed to see that man himself is part of nature. Is this part of nature also threatened, has man not suffered at all from the changing circumstances? This is something the experts are constantly arguing about. Today many diseases are explained by saying that people live longer nowadays. This point of you either denies that there has been any deterioration in nature, or holds that man has high level of tolerance and adaptability to changing environment.
Another group of scientists is deeply concerned about man’s future health. In this illustration is a list of reasons.
There are additional reasons, especially on the mental side. What is it that threatens to destroy man’s spiritual balance? Why is this a special threat among the young? Why do so many choose to commit suicide? Is mankind really only healthy in artificial way, and only on the physical side? Who is taking care of mental health, and with what kind of medicine?
When a man’s resistance and regulating mechanisms are in good order, the whole person is healthy. This subject is dealt with extensively in this book.
Environmental Health - our responsibility
UN 1968:
“Conservation can be defined as management of the resources of the environ-ment - air, water, soil, minerals and living species including man - so as to achieve the highest sustainable quality of human life.”
We have the physical properties of stone age. Are we ready to adjust to all of the chemicals of tomorrow?
For many, technology has taken a role of a master instead being a our servant.
Estimation from the USA: Within our reach, there are about 70,000 chemicals and the number is increasing 500-1000 / year. Drugs have 4000 medicinal substances and 3000 other compounds. Food products use 5000 compounds in various ways.
Chemicals are a real problem today. Society is changing, but will a regular human stay healthy in this change?
Here is a diagram of the basic structure of a plant. Above ground are the stem and leaves, and below ground the roots with root-hairs.
The leaves have many holes, or stomata, with guard cells which serve to open and close them, and through which carbon dioxide enters and water vapor exits. From carbon dioxide, water and sunlight, with chlorophyll as catalyst, the plant produces carbohydrates, which are its energy currency.
If weather conditions are stressful for the plant, it will close the stomata to reduce evaporation to a minimum. However, this also prevents the entry of carbon dioxide, so the assimilation process stops. Then a plant has a problem.
In commercial plant production, the nurseryman or grower automatically looks after such things, but in nature plants must take care of themselves. It is fascinating to see how their invisible computer works.
The root-hairs are responsible for the uptake of water and nutrients. The nutrients can be taken up passively, when man force-feeds the plant, or actively if the plant can make its own choice. The latter alternative is the rule under natural conditions.

In the Nordic conifer forests, the large seasonal fluctuations have forced the plants symbiotic relationships so that life can continue. A wonderful example of this is the collaboration between trees and fungi which form their mycorrhizas.
When the tree seed falls to the ground and germinates, fungal hyphae in the soil offer to collaborate with the seedling as assimilation begins. The hyphae exploit a much larger volume of soil than can the root alone, and thus help the plant to obtain water and mineral nutrients, as well as giving protection against many kinds of damage. These hyphae are well-known fungi, such as Lactarius, Amanita, Cantharellus Boletus and many more. In exchange for this service, the fungi receive energy in the form of carbohydrates from the host tree.
Also rice, currant, apple and most ornamental shrubs have mycorrhizas. Because the formation of mycorrhizas is inhibited by artificial nitrogen fertilizer, this should be avoided and wood-ash should be used instead. This wonderful substance will quickly encourage biological nitrogen fixation.
When an area of natural seedlings has been gapped-up with nursery-grown seedlings, which lack mycorrhizas because of the nitrogen fertilizer they have been fed, the latter suffer all kinds of pest damage to a much greater extent than the natural seedlings which have their defences in good order.

On the sea shore there are many kinds of seaweed, which man has learned to use in different ways. Among other things, it can be used directly as human food. For instance every Japanese eats at least a little every day, which is reflected in their physical and spiritual condition.
With regard to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, fresh seaweed is equivalent farmyard manure. In areas close to the sea, one can simply gather seaweed and plough it in to the soil. But in international trade in seaweed uses it in another way.
The seaweed it gathered by floating harvesters, and the essential constituents are extracted and concentrated by vacuum-distillation. This yields a dark, tar-like substance called seaweed extract. For use, this is diluted with water (usually 1:500) and applied as a spray.
Seaweed contains about 60 elements in natural proportions. It is the best substance for improving the condition of plants, animal and man.
In the illustration are listed the ingredients of a commercial “complete fertilizer”, intended for plants growing in dead substrates (such as rock-wool or glass-fibre). Many tomatoes, cucumbers and pot-grown lettuce are produced in this way. Although this fertilizer contains many elements, it provides not even half of what the plants would receive if they were given wood-ash.
Fields are normally treated with fertilizer containing just nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. In addition, boron, copper and selenium can be spread, and when a field is limed it also receives calcium and magnesium. Nowadays, then, fields are fertilized with less than 10 elements. This is deplorably little. This matter is dealt with in more detail elsewhere.

Even though the value of seaweed has long been known among farmers in coastal areas, it has not received recognition within the advisory services. That is something which the competitive fertilizer industry has influenced. However, various universities and other institutions have conducted research into the applications and benefits of seaweed, and I have compiled their findings into the accompanying list.
In its liquid form, seaweed is applied not to the soil but (diluted 1:500) either as a spray to the green parts of the plant, or as a solution in which other parts can be soaked.
Artificial fertilizer weakens a plant’s frost-tolerance but, if the plant is sprayed twice before transplanting, it will regain the tolerance typical of its species. Seed germination can be improved by an overnight soak, and cuttings often root better after standing for a day in seaweed solution.
By spraying strawberry plants (which were cultivated with artificial fertilizer) when they were in full leaf, grey mould was kept under control and insect damage reduced. Spraying must be done at night, when moisture-stress is at its lowest. The application rate is 8-10 kg per hectare (7-9 lbs per acre).
A lot of tomatoes are grown on the island of Guernsey in the English Channel, and there it was found that virus disease could be controlled by applying seaweed spray fortnightly.
It should be emphasised that the use of seaweed guarantees the longest possible storage-life for products. Innumerable international investigations testify to this. It should be pointed out that the spray is applied to the plants, not to the product.
Wood-ash is now regaining the respect due to it, together with seaweed, particularly here in the Nordic countries. If there is wood-ash, seaweed is not necessary. In the old days, when cattle grazed in woodland rather than open fields, their manure was sprinkled with chopped spruce branches which absorbed the ammonia and trace elements. As a fertilizer, this material was unique!
Seed germination percentage increased
Frost resistance of seedlings increased
Cuttlings grew roots better than with hormones
Destructive fungi influence decreased. For example, strawberry's gray mold 22-5%
Harm caused by viruses was brought under control
insect damage decreased or even disappeared
Berries', fruits' and vegetables' taste improved
Their shelf life increased crucially
bacterial activity in the soil increased
Yields increased significantly
No adverse effects have been observed
Similar substances are wood ash and cow manure using organic feed.
When man begins trying to protect nature by artificial means, this is usually because nature has been weakened by some previous human assault. Unfortunately the remedies we apply are usually aimed at curing the visible symptoms rather than the underlying cause. This, of course, doesn’t really improve things at all, and the problem can recur at any time.
The Finnish Nobel-prize winning chemist Artturi I. Virtanen held the view that all the elements found in wood-ash must be recycled into the environment, since they are essential for enzyme activity, which should be as high as possible. fertilizer chemists and plant physiologists have so far not supported Virtanen's view, even though practical experiments show that hi is correct.
When one tries to establish forests on poor soil, the only way to succeed is through fertilizing with wood-ash, and thereafter no further fertilizer is necessary.

The Nordic conifer regions are a wonderful example of how tall trees can grow on very modest humus reserves. The annual growth of these forests is considerable, often better than on the best field-soils. If the thin forest humus is removed, however, trees will not grow in the mineral soil which remains. Humus is an absolutely essential part of the forest soil.
But humus can also be dead. This is often found in very old forests, and a forest fire is needed to revive the soil. Damp areas tend to have leaf-litter in various stages of breakdown, but even this, despite its apparent abundance, is not living humus unless it is rehabilitated.
Living humus contains a wealth of microscopically small soil particles, the soil colloids, to which metal, ammonium and hydrogen ions are electrically bound. The round body in the picture is such a colloidal particle.
Our unfertilized forest soils are examples of natural cultivation, where uptake of nutrients is mainly active. Using energy derived from the host-tree’s assimilation process, the mycorrhizal hyphae can liberate potassium from the colloid and replace it with hydrogen. In the course of many decades the soil particle thus become increasingly acid and the conditions for plant growth deteriorate. A fire is now desirable.

About 150 years ago, the German chemist Justus von Leibig showed that the salts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium increased the growth of plants. Thus was born the fertilizer industry. Today’s researchers say that plants need 16 elements to grow well; Details can be found in plant physiology textbooks.
But this subject can be approached from quite a different angle. How has nature managed so far, without the help of this research? Perhaps it is impertinent of me to ask; it is, of course, to nature that scientist looks for his information. “Naturam, optimum ducem, sequimur” – let us follow nature, our best guide.
On side of this issue finds its practical application in biological cultivation, where plants are given as many elements as possible so that then plants themselves can choose what to use. Nobel-prize winner Artturi I. Virtanen has views on this too, but we will return to them later.
In the picture there are two radishes and two carrots. One of each has relatively small leaves and a large root; for the others, the ratio is reversed. Vegetative growth produces biomass; this is the aim, for example, in growing animal fodder, and it can be encouraged by heavy applications of nitrogen fertilizer. The radish and carrot with smaller tops have adopted vegetative growth because of excessive nitrogen: they may even contain free nitrate which makes them unhealthy for man to eat.
The other type of growth is generative; that results from less nitrogen and more potassium. With this balance of nutrients, growth is directed towards seed-production. The shorter radish in the picture is an excellent example of this way of growth. A bucket-full of wood-ash per 100 m2 annually produces fine generative growth.
One should not be concerned about the “scurf” which is sometimes found on the skin of potatoes. It is harmless fungus.
When a gardener goes to his seed-merchant or plant centre, and asks for advice on diseases in his crops, he will probably get a selection of pesticides and advice on how to use them. The advice is unlikely to include reducing nitrogen fertilizer, and even less likely to include replacing all fertilizers with wood-ash.
At the Alnarp research station in Sweden, it was discovered that too much fertilizer on strawberries led excessive leaf growth, to the extent that some shaded others. The shaded leaves consumed part of the sugar produced by the others, and so fruit-production was actually reduced. Some leaves had to be removed for strawberry-yield to recover. Advice: reduce nitrogen fertilizer considerably!
When onions are lifted in autumn, drying can often be unsuccessful if they have been given nitrogen too late in the season. There will be incomplete mortification at the neck of the onion, and grey mold can infect the living tissue and the bulb will quickly spoil.
Too much nitrogen applied to rutabagas, specially in wet growing seasons, results in weak tissue which has poor storage quality. These roots will not keep through winter to the following spring.
When oil was cheap, farmers learned to produce fodder using nitrogen fertilizer. Prompted by the oil crisis, farmers tried to return to using clover, natural nitrogen-fixer, but the clover didn't thrive. Six research stations investigated this problem, and the reason was found to be too much nitrogen in the soil. Wood-ash, of course, guarantees the growth of clover.
In the early 1970s, three Swedish researchers discovered the plant hormone phytochrome, which in nature measures day-length and, for example, gives trees the signal to prepare for winter as days shorten in autumn. In practice, in Finland, this results in the “winter” signal being given when day-length is down to 14 hours in southern areas, 16 hours in central Finland and 22 hours in the far north. Artificial nitrogen fertilizer poisons this hormone, and growth continues into late autumn, producing soft shoots which freeze in winter. So - look to the situation in your own garden!
When a person is involved in a car crash, he is often unable to recall anything of what happened from the moment he became aware that the crash would occur. Where has the memory gone?
To realise that one is about to be involved in a crash in a serious mental shock, results in the etheric body displacing itself and also the information channels breaking up of normal.
This assertion might suggest that the memory lies not in the brain but in some mysterious etheric body. This is perhaps hard to believe, and researchers regard such an idea as utter nonsense. I would say; the memory is in the brain… but in that part of it which is on the etheric level. Emotional thoughts arise in the brain's astral part, and logical thoughts in its mental part. From this it follows that the physical brain is only a computer directing the physical body. No amount of research into the physical brain can possibly reveal the other dimensions of man.
Sometimes one has a sense of “déjà vu” – of having seen some thing, place or situation before. Logically this seems impossible; how can such an impression arise?
During sleep, the astral body leaves the physical body and can go wherever it wants. It can meet the deceased, meet the astral bodies of other people, see landscapes…anything. If it has a particularly powerful experience, it can happen that some of the information rubs off on the physical body, so that later, has the impression of having had that experience on the physical level.
The moment when physics touches the “untrodden, untreadable regions”, and when psychology too touches the impenetrable darkness, then the intermediate realm of subtle bodies comes to life again, and the physical and psychic are once more blended in an indissoluble unity.
Carl Gustav Jung
This illustration was created as a result of the nuclear incident at Chernobyl. The explosion injured the etheric being of many people in central and southern Finland, and blocked the information flow between bodies on the different levels.
Half the people in the world believe that our existence is structured more or less like this. We live with our senses on the physical level, but we also have a body corresponding to the thinner etheric world, which to the extent the physical body. The so-called astral world is thinner still, and we have a corresponding body for it. When a man dies, the physical and etheric bodies disappear, but life continues on the astral plane.
I have been able to observe how a well-known atheist was watching his own funeral and, very surprised, said: “how is this possible? I'm alive!”
Man has two further bodies which correspond to the two parts of the even thinner mental world. This is the plane on which heaven exists, and to which the wanderer's path leads when the astral body dies.
In the Western world people find it hard to believe in reincarnation, but for a sensitive person it is an observable reality. The goal is to learn good through evil, and thus gradually to disentangle oneself from the evil. Evil thus serves a good purpose. The whole system is governed by the law of karma: as you sow, so shall you reap. Through one's deeds one creates karmic debt, which must then be redeemed in future incarnations. “The sins of the father shall be avenged unto the third and the fourth generations”. It is not God who takes revenge: everyone has free will. Do as you wish, and karma will take care of the consequences. The “father” here is equivalent to one incarnation, and the “third and the fourth generations” to subsequent incarnations.
A few more words about chemical element reserves. Man's etheric and astral bodies are also built of the elements which we know, even though in a much thinner form. Taken all together, the constituents of man's physical, astral and etheric bodies are chemically equivalent to seaweed and somewhat more than wood-ash. And thus we return to Virtanen's viewpoint…

EARTH RADIATION
In almost every village there is a water-diviner who, with the aid of a willow rod, spade or pendulum can find underground water-courses and decide where a well should be dug. Such people are greatly respected. The illustration includes water-courses of varying size.
The denser grid is the so-called G-lines, which run more or less north-south and east-west. The name comes from the word Globus, globe, since they form a network which just about covers the whole world. This radiation has been generally unknown among diviners, but science is all the more interested. A Finnish researcher will shortly be submitting his Ph.D. thesis on this subject.
The finer network, observed by Dr. Curry from Germany, is known by very few. In contrast to the water-courses and G-lines (which have negative radiation) the Curry-radiation is positive. According to the most recent discoveries, this radiation is of great importance.
Numerous books have been written about earth radiation and its effects, and its very existence has bee debated high and low. Now it looks as though its detractors are about to lose the battle.
A Finnish researcher into earth radiation – the late Mauno Pohjonen – has become internationally known. He visited more than 12.000 homes to investigate the radiation lines and to advise on the positioning of beds in relation to them. He compiled some 70 files of replies to his enquiries concerning the effects which moving the bed had had upon the health of the occupant. A professor from Kuopio University has said that statistical analysis of this information could provide material for two Ph.D. theses.
Special machines for water-divining can be bought “off the shelf” in Germany.
Earth radiation can be measured by the rotations of a pendulum, or by the reaction of the willow rod. Where the pendulum rotates 300 times and then stops, such a place can be called a cancer-field. Measured on a scale of 0-10, the reaction of the willow rod would be 9.5 in the same place. Water courses produce of similar strength to this, but G-lines average around 1-3, seldom 5-9.5.

This picture illustrates the positions of three people's beds. Each bed has intersecting lines of G-radiation close to the person's stomach or chest. One of the beds is orientated North-South, while the others are diagonal. Each person has been subjected to this radiation for 9-20 years: all three have died of cancer.
The G-radiation intensity is generally 1-3 on the scale previously described. Sometimes, however, it can be considerably higher, between 3 and 5. Even if the intensity remained constant, towards the end the radiation affected the patients more strongly – equivalent to a value over 9 – as if to ensure that the person would die.
It is possible to ward off the harmful effects of earth radiation, but one has to know a thing or two to be able to do that. It should be said straight away that protection based on the use of a metal shield works for only a short time – ten weeks at most – because the metal becomes saturated with radiation and begins to let it through. With special planning however, it is possible to ground the radiation permanently.
If the diviner walks among ferns he will notice that there is no radiation. However, if he lifts his divining rod about 60 cm above the vegetation, he will be surprised to discover radiation as normal.
This is also a peculiar characteristic of peat-moss. There is no radiation for 50 cm above the moss. This has previously gone unnoticed since people usually carry their rods higher than this.
Excellent protection from earth radiation can be obtained by using non-fertilized moss-peat. A 12 cm thick layer of loosely aerated peat can be formed into a sort of mattress for example. Thereafter it can be flattened if necessary, and placed under the bed. It should not be placed on the floor, however, for there can be more than 60 cm between floor and bed.
Harmful radiation can also be banished with a spiritual command, but that is an art which must be learned. The flow of blood from a wound can be stopped with a similar command.

On the main road from Munich to Augsburg in Germany, there was a notorious accident black-spot between the 60 and 61 kilometer-posts. Cars coming from Munich inexplicably veered to the left, into the path of on-coming traffic. This problem defied explanations for many years.
Finally, the authorities turned to diviners. Four such people, previously not acquainted with one another, were asked to inspect the place. All four found exceptionally strong earth radiation. When this was grounded with copper cables, the radiation disappeared, and thereafter there have been no more crashes.
Similar accident black-spots are known in Finland; the police cannot understand why so many accidents should occur on straight stretches of road.
In certain places, the road surface tends to buckle and disintegrate as it thaws in spring, and no amount of repair or back-filling with different materials seems to help. Diviners have attempted to explain the reason to the authorities, but so far have been met with deaf ears.

The concept of bioenergy is very ancient. Many books have been written on the subject, and it is known by several different names, including ki , chi, od and orgone energy. In the east, Tibet particularly, it has been called prana, life-force.
Generally, bioenergy is the mysterious average of the mental, astral and etheric energies. In special cases there is also Christ or Buddhic energy included, and such energy is then very healing.
Bioenergy is essential for life. Without bioenergy, a person dies. The bioenergy of a healthy person extends about 170 cm beyond the physical body. If the field is smaller, the person is ill in some way, and if it shrinks below 140 cm the psyche will be significantly weakened, leading to pessimism, depression and the possibility of suicide. A person with healthy bioenergy will never commit suicide. Because it is easy to increase other people's bioenergy, this should be used as a means of preventing suicides.
The illustration concerns my experiments on increasing and decreasing bioenergy. This was done with a plant on which seaweed-extract (1:500) was sprayed. The double dotted line marks the original bioenergy field which, within a few hours of spraying, begins to grow. After 24 hours it has tripled.
Similar, but slower, growth can be achieved by applying wood-ash (one teaspoonful in a cup of water) to the soil around the plant.
The reverse effect, a shrinking of the bioenergy field, can be achieved by applying a 0.1% solution of calcium nitrate to the soil. Even though nitrogen fertilizer may increase the growth of the plant, this is at the cost of its health. Particularly where vegetables are concerned, it goes almost without saying that a healthy plant will be of much greater benefit to the consumer.

The bioenergy of the biologically-grown lettuce described in the accompanying table in almost double its energy as measured by technical means. Tomatoes and cucumbers cultivated biologically are also very valuable vegetables.
Strangely enough, under certain circumstances, even artificially cultivated vegetables can be valuable. This can occur when the growth substrate contains a lot of cellulose which, when it breaks down, releases many things including the radiation energy of the sun which was captured during photosynthesis. The plants seem able to absorb this sun-power and convert it to bioenergy. The consequence of this is revealed in the unexpectedly high bioenergy figures for the artificially-cultivated plants shown in the table. This type of cultivation can thus be satisfactory if the nutrient supply is adequate.
There is good material for this in the Nordic conifer region - a light peat which breaks down rather quickly.
Nowadays many plants are grown in dead substrates, fed with liquid nutrients as necessary. Vegetables grown like this have only 30% bioenergy, which vanishes completely when they are harvested. No wonder there are complaints about the quality of these vegetables.
Dutch vegetable growers are now (summer, 1990) becoming very concerned for the future of their markets. Until now about 70%of Dutch exports have gone to Germany, but this market is shrinking because of the perceiving poor quality of the produce.
In Germany they are beginning to say: Don't touch – it's Dutch”!

According to the current scientific view, matter and energy are inter-convertible, A novel viewpoint, however, is that matter and bioenergy are also inter-convertible; in fact this is common in nature.
Later in this book, I talk about the thrush and it's development from fertilisation to week-old-chick. During that short span of time it is subject to many external influences, and the same can be said of the hatching of the hen's egg.
Has anyone investigated whether the unhatched egg actually contains sufficient matter to produce a live chick? On the face of it, this question is not worth serious consideration; the answer is self-evident. “Ex nihilo nihil fit” – nothing comes from nothing. Nothing visible has been added through the shell from outside, so how could there possibly be anything more in the chick than was originally in the egg? The logic is unassailable, and the question seems pointless. But to this I say “It would be worth investigating!”, for during the whole process of hatching the egg is surrounded by a powerful bioenergy field. What does that contribute?
The white-fish requires fresh water; that is, water with high bioenergy. It eats insects, their larvae and plankton, all of which have bioenergy which is several times greater than their physical energy. Because of this, the fish's body consists mainly of bioenergy – from its food and from the water.
Harsher life circumstances lead to greater cooperation between different organisms, both plants and animals. One such association is illustrated here; an established birch helping a small pine seedling.

Water is the foundation-stone upon which all life is built. But clean fresh water has become a declining natural recourse. In fact, “dirty” water (that is, water containing pathogenic bacteria) was once unknown to nature, but nowadays it is found almost everywhere.
Water has an incredible ability to clean itself. An excellent example of this is Lake Lievestuore in central Finland. This is a 15 km-long lake which was in fact dead when the local cellulose factory was closed down in May 1967. When the Jyväskylä Hydrobiological Institute investigated the lake in mid-November the same year they were amazed to find that the oxygen content at 50 m debt had already recovered to 50% of normal. This was an impressive indication of what nature can accomplish when left in peace.
The bioenergy field of ordinary water extends 5-10 cm beyond its container. Here and there in Finland, however, there are springs where the water has a field of 2.5 meters. Similar water is wound in a spring near the city of Mendoza in Argentina; it is transported over 1000 km to Buenos Aires. The water of Lourdes is even stronger.
In biological cultivation, the nutrients are in the soil and so pure water can be used for irrigation. There is an important difference between this and the kind of artificial cultivation where the nutrients are supplied in solution in the water.
In 1984 I visited the Yosemite National Park in California; the water of the river Merced had a bioenergy field of 2.5 meters at that time. By the summer of 1990, the nuclear tests in the Nevada desert had taken their toll on the aquifers of California; the Merced's bioenergy was down to 3-4 cm.

Bioenergy is lessened when water evaporates or is exhaled out as vapor.
Fertilizer solution with 1‰ strength loses all of its Be in 5 hours.
Acid rain diminishes the Be of water.
Lack of Be in water makes people and animals aggressive.
The Be of water gives protection from frost.
Biological agriculture uses pure water.
Nuclear explosions destroy the Be of water within a range of 100 kilometers.
Bioenergy is a blend of the power of three worlds, and a healthy person's bioenergy field extends to 170 cm around the physical body. This much I have said already.
However, when someone starts becoming evil, and his bioenergy field shrinks, this change happens in a very specific way. First, the component which represents his intellect starts shrinking, and it disappears at the border of the negative world. In its place appears demonic logic. When this becomes stabilised and takes over the body's energy-maintenance, the astral and etheric components become subservient to the new system.
Someone who realises that he has become a negative being may want to return to the positive area; this is not easily achieved. On the return journey, an area of “limbo” separates the black mental space from the white, and the person may find himself in this place where no mental power (neither black nor white) supports him. Under these circumstances the person may experience powerful delusions, and may break down physically to the brink of death. To recover from such a state without help is to walk a path of great suffering.
A negative person is a vampire. Usually unaware himself, he sucks power from those around him and mediates it to the world of demons. Many of us don’t like to visit certain people because we know how tired we get in their company. For this kind of situation, the wise Chinese philosopher Laozi has prescription: “When someone is evil to me and I am good to him, he will become good too”. This wisdom can be interpreted bioenergetically thus: by giving bioenergy to the vampire before going to see him, his vacuum can be filled and he is unable to suck energy from anyone else. Such a charge will last him for a week.

When one embarks on the spiritual path, new senses are gradually awakened which grow stronger year by year. Our being thus gains other channels for use when required. These channels are in fact functioning constantly, but spiritual steps give them extra work. They are called chakras.
The chakras are pastel-colored regions in the etheric body and, the picture shows, there are seven of them. Bioenergy enters through the second and third lowest chakras, and also with food, although it is a matter of serious concern that this last route is substantially blocked for many people nowadays. When one is under stress, the chakras grow dimmer and their function weakens; something must be done to cleanse them.
Many teachings, some based on yoga, provide guidance for restoring these energy fields. Generally, it must be said, there are great dangers associated with these activities. With inappropriate or inadequate technique, the kundalini (or serpent fire) power, which resides in the lowest chakra can be aroused. This can move up the spinal column, destroying its etheric component, all the way to the brain. Irreparable mental damage, even death, can follow.
When a person is in good shape generally, the chakras will take care of themselves.

The etheric being completely permeates the physical body, and is its source of life. When someone dies, the etheric body leaves through the head, taking the other non-physical components with it. Thereafter, it positions itself above the physical body until the latter starts to decompose, whereupon the etheric body itself dissolves.
Sometimes, at the result of a physical blow for example, the etheric body can become displaced. When this happens, the area involved aches terribly, specially in old people. In the young, the etheric gradually returns to its proper place but, in the elderly, help is required. This help can take the form of a “prayer” or entreaty, but training is necessary for it to be done properly.
A person who was involved in a car crash became a zombie. Help was found when a sensitively skilled person looked in to the situation and discovered that the victim's etheric was displaced at the neck. The helper was able to restore the etheric to its proper position, and the victim returned to life.
When one moves, the etheric body leaves a trail which, with the help of a divining rod, can be followed for several hours. With very little tuition, this can become an enjoyable game among friends.
One can only guess at the extent to which nature's hunters rely on following the etheric trail of their pray. It is said that, in wartime, horses never ever, even in the dark, trod on wounded soldiers lying on the ground. They see more than we do.

Many westerners may feel uncomfortable with the term “Buddhic channel”. It conjures up an image of Gautama Buddha, the great Indian religious leader, but the name does not refer to him. That world which is thinner than the mental level has traditionally been called the Buddhic level, and the channel leading there the Buddhic channel.
The existence of this channel may not be widely known; I have found no references to it in literature. Nevertheless, I myself have found it, and have become aware of its great importance in everyday life.
The channel starts at the etheric body's heart chakra and runs to the Buddhic, or Christ, level. Our great master lives there, ready to help whoever asks.
The channel is kept open by a group of trace elements, which the body must get from somewhere. Nowadays our food hardly makes the grade for this purpose.
When someone is helped by requesting that he receive more bioenergy and vibrations, one can also ask that the Buddhic channel be open, in connection with this, trace-element and vitamin supplements may be necessary. I shall return to this later.
About 30% of a person's health comes from the plane of LOVE (CHRIST) or the BUDDHIC plane.

In our modern world it gets blocked easily.

When someone contracts a short-term illness, such as influenza, sore throat, appendicitis and the like, the doctor can treat him and the problem will quickly be over and done with. However, when symptoms of rheumatism, allergies, cancer, Parkinson's disease or some other slowly-progressive disease begin to appear, it is a question of exposure to a very different sort of health disturbance.
If one is sensitive to the effects of earth radiation, as are about 50% of Finns, one's defences can break down under the prolonged influence of stress, strong modern drugs, marital problems and so on. Then the door is open to whatever disease is appropriate. Under these circumstances a patient's condition is found to be as illustrated here: all life-supporting factors are in bad shape.
This patient tends to run from one doctor to the next, and there is no recovery in prospect. The prognosis varies with successive treatments. Some recover; many do not. These people are often prime clients of trace-element therapists but, as experience shows, merely correcting the trace-elements reserve cannot lead to a permanent cure.
If the factors listed in the illustration are all taken into account, and if he is protected from earth radiation, the patient's recovery will be firmly based. To learn this skill only requires acceptance of this philosophy and the willingness to help one's fellow human beings.

Earth-radiation plays a growing part in these. In the year 1988 the portion was 40-50% of patients in health care centers.
Science has proved that the smallest particles of matter are in constant motion. Indeed, without that motion we would know nothing about them.
Existence, however, involves other kinds of vibration, which are much harder to detect. Over ten years ago I began to recognize these things, and I started to look for as many new clues and observations in nature as I possibly could. There was no help to be found in the literature, but little by little I managed to get to grip with this issue.
This vibration is not an energy it is a state of being. The higher the vibration, the more secure is life. All life therefore tries to reach higher levels of vibration.
At its highest, this vibration is equivalent to the cosmic brain which, together with bioenergy, is the foundation for all life. Vibration is not just concerned with life; every object, every house, every locality has its own vibration.
To develop some scale on which to measure this vibration, I gave the value 10 to Piippola (the central point of Finland) and I could then begin to make comparisons. Rarely, the vibration can be negative; it is then not from cosmic brain, even though its purpose is for the growth and development of mankind.
The quality of vibration varies. It can contain many Christ-level qualities, and then it is very healing. The icon “Godmother of Konevits”, in the monastery of Valamo in Finland, has a very high healing vibration, as does the spring at Lourdes in France.
Before the Second World War, the average vibration in Europe was about 35. Now it is around 10, but the trend is slowly upwards.

An ant-hill is one of the miracles of nature. A sensitive person will notice that ant-hills are always located at a junction of strong G-radiation lines. If the hill is big, there will also be a water-course at this point – sometimes two. Furthermore, a Curry-radiation crossing-point will also be found there, and this is where the queen-ant is located.
As previously stated, the G-lines follow the four main compass-directions. Anyone can see where these lines go, for the ant-trails always follow them. If there is a water-course present, the trails will also follow this. So for a beginner with the willow rod, the ant-hill is an excellent school. The numbers on the drawing indicate the strength of the radiation lines. The water-course and the G-lines are negative and the Curry-lines positive, from the human viewpoint.
From resin and their own acid the ants produce small nodules, about pin-head size, which can be found throughout the hill. These have very high bioenergy and vibration levels and, thanks to them, the hill remains unfrozen in even the hardest winter.
In April, when the sun has thawed the top of the hill, the ants come out in great numbers to soak up the energy of the sun. If the top of the hill has been damaged during winter, it is immediately repaired by moving fine material upward from the mid-region of the hill. For a few weeks, this leaves the middle of the hill composed predominately of coarser material.
The ant-hill has no food-store, yet in spring the ants seem to be in no hurry to find food - so what do they live on? Sometimes but rarely, they may bring in an insect larva. If the nest is deprived of radiation however, the ants begin immediately to seek a new nest-site - a place as many radiation-lines as possible cross will be preferred. So, from cradle to grave, the life of the ant is dependent on earth radiation!

Trees have around them cone-shaped etheric shields, the purpose of which is indeed to protect the tree from external influences. The further north one goes, the more layers there are to each cone. The pines of central Europe have a single layer; in most of Finland they have two, but the far north there are three. On the Arctic shores they may even have four. The diviners can easily detect these cones. They are called the tree's territory.
A tree's state of health is discernible from the condition of its etheric cone. Where the tree has double-layered cone, as in southern Finland, the inner layer should show 100% fitness, and the outer at least 50% if the tree is in good shape. This is how in summer 1990. However, for some reason, two years previously the situation was much worse; there were hardly any outer layers at all. I am convinced that this recovery is a reflection of the fact that, around the world, some 2 billion people are waking up to the possibility of nature's destruction. This has started a “cosmic relief” for nature.
The drawing illustrates how individuals of the same tree species don’t like to be too close together. Their territories are cramped and distorted. Mixed species, however, thrive because their territories can comfortably overlap. Nature favors mixed forest.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, in which an apparently healthy baby up to 6 months old simply stops breathing, is one of today’s most mysterious paediatric problems. Such as incident can affect the parents profoundly, and may be an important influence in their decision about having any more children.
The causes of this problem have been sought around the world, but so far we have only hypotheses. From the bioenergy viewpoint, however, both cause and cure are clear.
As I have said before, the bioenergy field of a healthy person extends to 170 cm around the body. The baby waiting to be born shares the mother's bioenergy field, and “inherits” it, whatever the value, at birth. If the mother's field at the moment of birth is 40 cm or less, this field doesn't stay with the child but slowly evaporates over the next few months, and so the baby dies.
This stressing occurrence can, however, be prevented. When the mother-to-be receives more bioenergy and her vibration level is raised, the danger is averted. In my courses I teach that everyone meeting a pregnant woman should give her bioenergy; it is not necessary to know if she needs it or not – there is not danger of overdose! The same should be done whenever one sees a baby.
The bioenergy of mother's breast-milk is about 100 cm during the first 8 days, irrespective of mother's state of health. But it's a strain to produce such valuable milk, and a sick person cannot maintain this level. After the first week or so, the bioenergy of the milk from a mother who is not in good health will fall to 50 cm or even lower. It will remain at that level for the rest of the lactation period.
It should be emphasised that breast-milk should not go anywhere near any technical equipment. Ultra-high-temperature processing or radiation treatment destroys the bioenergy, and milk should never go within 30 cm of working microwave oven.

The American Professor Ann Vigmore has said that there is no more valuable food for man than sprouts. I agree with her whole-heartedly.
In fact, it's more than a matter of sprouts. Whenever nature awakens, as in spring, it is a cosmic event; life-supporting forces come in to play and take care of the emerging growth. Generally, for a few days, perhaps a week, the bioenergy field around a germinating seed grows significantly. The vibration increases several-fold, and the object gets on a “homeopathic wave” within which some 60 elements materialise. So the coming of spring is a tremendously intense cosmic banquet!
Many people are aware of the value of the new spring growth. Some collect the new birch leaves, some the light-green spruce shoots, some harvest short nettle shoots… all have an inner knowing that they are collecting something specially valuable.
The drawing shows the relationship between the length and bioenergy of a wheat-shoot. The bioenergy field is at its greatest when the shoot is about 6 cm long. Surprisingly, the shoot of a seedling grown with fertilizers reaches the same level, but it remains there for a shorter time and then falls rapidly.
The activity of these shoots is very great. My studies show that they can be used to give protection from the radiation with which our modern technology surrounds us.
Some farmers have begun to cultivate wheat shoots in the lofts of their cow-sheds for use as winter fodder. It's very simple, and needs only enough light to turn the shoots green. For the cattle it is excellent food, as can be seen from glistening condition of their coats.

While several human diseases are of a general nature, many, such as diabetes, present symptoms which indicate the malfunction of one specific organ. Such illnesses often require long term treatment. The patient can, however, have all other organs in good, or even super healthy, condition. Around this imbalance many different therapies have arisen.
A sensitive person can feel with his hand which organs are strong, and which are weak. He can also feel that it is possible to transfer strength, with his hands, from one organ to another. The person receiving such treatment can feel it, and will be aware of receiving help. Boosting bioenergy or vibration level is not included unless the helper has specifically learned this art.
It should be noted that there are plenty of natural remedies for treating sick organs. It only requires a skilful therapist who will give instruction in their proper use. Many doctors will also recommend the same remedies. Unguided self-medication can lead to further illness; this word of warning also applies to trace elements and vitamins.

The special function of the spleen in the human body is still a mystery to medical science. It has something to do with blood cells and immunity, yet it can be surgically removed (as after an accident for example) without apparent ill effect.
I have often wondered about the purpose of the spleen. Surely it is there for a greater reason than we have so far realized. Gradually I became aware that this organ is concerned with our element reserve. More specifically, it functions as homeopathic mediator between physical body and the etheric and astral bodies. Here we have an example of nature's fantastic skills: if there is a deficiency of some element, the information summons the material homeopathically. It simply materialises; but this process can occur only in healthy nature.
